Board Layout

Printed circuit board layout.

We provide complete printed circuit board layout services. Our capabilities include multi-layer boards and buried vias. Our engineers use the KiCad electronic design automation suite, developed at IUT Grenoble and CERN. Unlike a typical layout service, we are extra mindful of RF engineering requirements, electromagnetic compatibility, transmission line impedance, and all aspects of layout which can impact the RF performance of your design. We typically deliver your project with industry-standard Gerber and drill files. We typically work closely with a board house and assembly house to ensure high quality production.

Broadcast Engineering

FM and Internet radio.

We offer a range of broadcast engineering consulting services for terrestrial and Internet radio. Our services cover the air chain from studio to transmitter. New-media services include Internet broadcast setup, software, automation, and website integration.

Our AudioRack Suite is one of the most flexible, and reliable radio automation and live-assist packages available for OS X (soon to be available for Linux). We provide custom installation, interactive web-site/streaming integration, configuration, and operator training for this powerful open-source package. A key features includes our custom streaming protocol, featuring forward error correction and interleaving for unparalleled Internet studio-to-transmitter link (STL) reliability.

Microwave Photonics

Radio Over Fiber.

Fiber-optics offer an advantageous low-loss means of delivering signals from HF to ELF between a basestation/head-end and remote locations for applications such as CATV, WiFi, LTE, and radar [1]. Radio Over Fiber (aka RF Photonics) is also the best means of generating true-time delay for ultra-wideband signal processing and dynamic beamsteering.

In 2008, Red Mountain Radio pioneered a new application of Radio Over Fiber [2], enabling radar in the deep, high temperature downhole environment.

Today's wireless enabled devices take RF engineering and RF design to demanding levels, requiring high performance with very low per-unit costs in increasingly smaller packages.

Our designs address RF issues that remain critical to market success, especially with today's wireless chipsets and modules; antenna size and matching, spurious emissions, radiofrequency interference, battery lifetime, and standards compliance including PTCRB.

Often, our clients opt for a complete circuit design with an embedded microrocessor, firmware (C, etc.), power supply, charger, and interface circuitry. We are happy to support clients throughout the process from initial design requirements through third-party certification and assembly/production.
